Back Surgery: Spinal Fusion
Visit orthopedics.healthanimations.com for more info. This 3D medical animation of back surgery shows lumbar spinal fusion, a surgical procedure performed on the spine to weld two or more vertebrae together using surgical hardware and bone graft material. Yes, that fractured vertebra looks worse – as in messier and more painful – than near any other animation I have seen.

1:50 made me shudder. My uncle had this exact surgery after he was in a car accident about 2 years ago. But I think the new bone that grew did something it wasn’t suppose to do and he has to go back in for surgery.
