How I Ended My Lower Back Pain – Part 7: Ab Coaster
I love this machine! In refining my streching & exercise program, I bought a few pieces of equipment, although this one cost me $400, it was the most expensive one I bought. It’s not about how much you spend, it’s about how much you use it, and whether it does what it’s supposed to do. This one is a winner. In this video I demonstrate how I use the Ab Coaster. Of all the abdominal exercises I do, this one is the most effective. The most important thing you have to do in eliminating low back pain is to strengthen your abdominal muscles. Your lower back needs their support. If you’re overweight, get rid of those extra pounds – they are killing your back! After 8 years of intense low back pain, I had to do something, and this exercise & stretching program did it in 6 months. Now all I have to do is maintain it for the rest of my life. I have no doubt that I will continue to sustain this program. I guess I needed 8 years of lower back pain as my wake-up call. But I’m awake now, and I realize that I caused I caused the problem by ignoring my body’s need for strong back support muscles. I needed this program at age 45, but I didn’t get it going until age 56. If I needed it at age 45, how much more will I need it at age 65, or age 75? The best time to start anything is now. Actually you can only start or do anything NOW. You can say you’ll do it in the future, but if you ever do it, when you do it – it will be NOW. Some people continually put important things off until some …

Don’t let the momentum carry you. Contract your abs, try to hold it at the top, and slowly lower it. Repeat. You won’t get to 80 reps, but you will be doing your abs much more justice. Shoot for sets of 15-20 reps the “right” way.

Look at all those other machines you have old timer! doesn’t even look like you use any of them! ATTENTION PEOPLE: Ab Coaster is friggin stupid! You can get the same OR better results in less than 12 weeks by using simple machines, and it costs less. Don’t buy this piece of shit. Trust me. its not worth the money!

I’m not a doctor. I can’t make any recommendations. I only share what I am doing and how it has helped me. With a disc hernia, I think you should consult your doctor.

i just bought it and used it once and i can feel it in my abdominal.

When you first start using the Ab Coaster, you can damage abdominal muscles if you over do it. You should take it easy for the first 6 months until you build up those muscles. After that, there’s no harm in using every day. Just pay attention to any pain you may experience. I do 100 repetitions every day, split between left, right and center movement.

After about 6 months of daily exercise my back pain went away and it hasn’t returned. the exercises are listed in the 10 videos in the YouTube series. The AbCoaster video is part 7. I don’t think using that machine alone will do the trick. You need a full range of exercises focusing on low back, abs and upper legs, including hamstring stretches. And you shouldn’t expect to see results until you have been doing it regularly for several months.

I am 15 years old, 16 in 2 months. At my local gym we have this machine, and I also have lower back problems.
My back still hurts after using this machine, what should I do :S ?

I have never used an Ab Circle (although I receive spam emails about it every week). I have read user comments that it isn’t built very well and may not hold up well over time. The Ab Coaster is built like a tank, and you will have no problems with it. I use it every day, and I love it. So my recommendation is to get the Ab Coaster.
July 11, 2011 - 11:57 pm
can i ask you a question what machine is better for the abs a ab circle or the ab coaster.
July 12, 2011 - 12:00 am
I would get the Ab Coaster. If you do, be careful not to do too much too soon. Just stick with it and over time you will see a big difference. Meanwhile, I suggest floor crunches, bench crunches, the ab wheel ($10) and a Pilates ball for ab crunches (about $15). Each of those will give you a slightly different variation. Do them all and you will really strengthen those muscles. My back is still going strong – I haven’t had any more problems since I got on this program.
