@your0socks0rock I think it’s me that feels for you, not fun at 17 and something that will be with you thru your life…I’m 60 and have yet to really let this sink in as to how it has changed my life…Early retirement for sure…The upper neck can be surgically repaired by going thru the front of the neck, sometimes with a cage…Know several who have had it done and works…I do so wish you well your0socks0rocks…Let me know from time to time plz!..

I also have Degenerative Disc Disease with scoliosis. had spine surgery from the Back. cage fusion Done never again. took over a year to fully heel and im still in some what pain today at 45 years of age. had surgery done in 2009. cant bend 100% very, very stiff. i was a runner and into martial arts for 25 years. cant run no more and cant do martial arts no more life does suck. o well it could be worse.

You explained the topic well. I was 33 when I started developing DDD. The pain gets worse when I get out of bed (if I was lying on my back), and prolonged standing. It is annoying.

@glk001 I feel you. I was diagnosed with degenerative disc disease when I was 16. I am currently 17. “Normal consequence of aging”. I don’t think so. I also have a bulging disc in a disc in my upper neck area. I hate feeling like this.

I’m 48 and its in my lower neck. Pain is mild, but annoying. The MRI indicated a mild case.

This degenerative disk disease that you call it does not have to occur as soon in life as you think. Take that spine, and put your middle finger, thumb on the atlas on the wings of the atlas, and the spine will twist in an S shape. The atlas can become shifted with a traumatic birth,and whatever trauma causing the body to develop symptoms latter in life varying with each individual. All now upcspine practitioners, improve the quality of your life now. wait, and a chronic condition will develop.

Well that was nearly ten minutes of NOTHING…4 Bulging disks, L1,L2,L4,and L5, two partial knee replacements needed after several meniscus tears, and the need for bone fusion at first joint in my left foot…Sure, tell me this is the normal aging process…If I was 90, but I’m not…Oh well, life is good…lol…

my time in the army caused me to have this. I was diagnosed with this today after an MRI. It sucks and the pain is annoying but oh well. Fuck it.

@thisiscowshit1001 I’m 16 and was diagnosed this year after a MRI. DDD is extremely painful and I have good and bad days. I also have a messed up disc that’s pinching a nerve…. at only 16 I’m VERY worried about my future health wise. I wish that this wouldn’t have happened to me so young. ]: I AM NOT AGING. ]: it sucks.
