Disc Decompression – Patient Perspective
Jan 16th
helpingbacks.com Julie Shattuck explains how Disc Decompression procedure changed her pain. Paul J Lynch MD of Arizona Pain Specialists explains the process of diagnosis and the procedure. Nearly 10 million people suffer from lower back and leg pain caused by a herniated disc. Medical treatment is estimated to cost more than $20 billion annually. Percutaneous discectomy using the Stryker Dekompressor® provides a highly effective treatment for relieving pain due to contained disc herniations. Successful in 90% of patients, this minimally invasive procedure reduces pressure on the nerve root by removing disc nucleus. It reduces pain, shortens recovery time, and often returns patients to their previous levels of activity. This minimally invasive approach completes the continuum of care for patients who haven’t responded to conservative treatments, but want an alternative to surgery. David said it was a very sad time for him. His Doctor referred him to Dr. Hamada. David said, It was a wonderful day, Ill never forget it because I went there thinking my problem was not severe enough to warrant an actual back surgery, and Dr. Hamada said we can fix you up, we can give you your life back, we can address this in a way youll be very very surprised at the improvement you can attain with out a lot of post operative recovery time going by. David thought that back surgery should only be considered as the last possible option. Dr. Hamada explained that he had spinal stenosis and that there is a devise that can be implanted to prevent the vertebra from pressing on the nerve and it was called the X-STOP®. Dr. Hamada said that in some cases the X-STOP® alone would be enough but in other cases there may be …
